He visited House of Commons to celebrate this special occasion and made a statement on his social media. "Today, I repeat this 66 words, which was repeated by every new naturalized Canadian Citizen to declare that I am officially joining the Canadian Family, the country I have been living for 1/3 of my life. ​Skyler is one of the youngest certified flight reviewers in Canada. He has conducted numerous flight reviews in the Ottawa region, helping certify new, safe pilots to protect Canadian airspace. Additionally, he is among the select flight reviewers who have developed their own flight review procedures, offering candidates a unique and well-organized experience.

Skyler envisions developing a Canadian-themed entertainment industry that not only offers Canadian and international visitors a groundbreaking amusement park experience but also celebrates and recognizes Canadian Indigenous cultures. In 2024, he founded Mapleland Resort and is currently focused on designing attractions and themes for the entire park. He is also submitting innovative designs to the CIPO for patents.

Skyler's passion for space led him to establish LaunchCa in 2022. Initially founded as a high school club at Glebe Collegiate Institute, he guided students in designing and building amateur rockets and weather balloons. After graduating, Skyler transformed the student club into a formal business with the vision of becoming one of Canada's first commercial space companies.
Early Life
Skyler Ye was born in 2005 in Tianjin, China, to a family with backgrounds in media and real estate. His mother, a documentary director at Tianjin Television Station, specialized in Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage, while his father worked as a real estate developer.

Skyler attended Tianjin Heping Central Elementary School before being recommended to the High School Affiliated to Peking University, a highly selective institution known for its rigorous academic standards. In 2019, he came to Canada as an international student, enrolling at Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa.

During his time at Glebe, Skyler quickly established himself as a student leader and innovator. He was elected Grade Representative and later served as President of the Glebe Students’ Council, where he introduced various initiatives aimed at modernizing student engagement and school events. In his final year, he founded Glebe’s first aerospace club, leading a team of students in the development and launch of amateur rockets and weather balloons.

In 2022, Skyler became a permanent resident of Canada, marking a significant milestone in his immigration journey. He later attended Carleton University, where he pursued a degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Aerodynamics, Propulsion, and Vehicle Performance. While at Carleton, his focus expanded beyond traditional aerospace fields to include theme park attraction design and ride engineering, blending his passion for aerospace technology with the entertainment industry.

In 2025, Skyler officially became a Canadian citizen, further solidifying his commitment to the country where he planned to build his future ventures.
